Now days most of us know what text messaging is. And pretty much any cell phone created in the last 2 years has had the ability built in. AND most cell phone plans now have texting as part of it without any separate extra charge.
So of course now the world is trying to figure out how to use it for marketing.
I will be honest, this is not something I have looked into much. Not as a marketing tool. I text. I have a teenager so of course I text. And I have done the things where you text a certain word to a certain number to vote at a sports game or to get a coupon for something.

Most over think it and end up trying to write a short novella instead of an email.

When I was first taught about branding, it was all about your logo, the fonts you used, the colors in your marketing pieces, etc. It was very much about corporate branding. It’s all about the company and having this professional image.

And one of the things you keep hearing is to re-purpose your content. Almost everyone out there that teaches about marketing agrees on this point.

But these sites have already become so popular that other services are starting to come online that make these sites even more attractive to their users. And these new options help ensure that the location based social network is now here to stay.

As someone that has been in the web design world for over 15 years, I get one question all the time.
“Why didn’t my old web guy tell me about that?”
Well, it’s because most web designers are not marketers. They know the programs that make your website, brochure or business card look great. They are very creative. But, most of them have never learned marketing, copywriting or the power of persuasive marketing.
