Are You Hearing All The Buzz With Google Buzz?
So, as any new tool comes out, there’s a ton of Buzz about it and Google Buzz isn’t any different.
If you haven’t heard about it yet, you need to be paying attention as it’s getting a lot of attention. Also, in case you haven’t been paying attention so far, Google has a great track record with most of the programs they launch.
So what is Google Buzz?
Google Buzz is Google’s own Social Media site. I like to look at it like a cross between Twitter and Facebook.
It’s designed similar to Twitter in it’s simple style and the way your conversations work. It’s pretty basic and doesn’t have all the extra fluff Facebook has like games and goofy applications (yet). This is the biggest reason I like it personally. It is simple and easy to get started with. Anyone that knows me knows I like Twitter more than most of the other Social Media sites out there for this one reason. Simple is good.
Then, it adds a few great additional that are similar to Facebook that I do really like. You can like a post, comment on a post and the best part… You’re not limited to the 140 characters that Twitter does. This is great if you have more to say than what you can fit in 2 sentences. This gives it a big plus over Twitter for most people.
Another great reason Buzz really is great is that it threads all conversations related to a post. This simply means that you can easily see all the responses, comments, and conversation related to one post in one place. Makes it easier to follow one conversation without having to bounce around.
I’m still playing with it myself so I’ll be sure to give you more updates and such as I find more bells and whistles to share.
Overall, I suggest getting set up with it right away just to make sure you get your name reserved. Then just start playing with it and add it to your Social media mix. I’m pretty sure it’s not going anywhere and will become a force in the Social media world shortly.
